my KDE4 desktop

Blue plasma theme with Analog clock, twitter and Picture plasmoids.

The KDE Plasma team is inviting everyone to participate in a contest to create Plasma themes from which a select few will be chosen to be included as a part of the upcoming KDE 4.1 release. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a very visible component of the KDE project, the Plasma desktop.
This is a good opportunity of exposure for the talented graphic desighners here in Maldives as well.

yeap. Definitely sexy arrite. To be honest though I've gotten used to the gnome menu system to the point where the kDE menu doesn't feel exactly at home to me. But then again that's a personal preference right? It's definitely looking good...

yeah. the KDE classic menu of 3.x series is pretty cluttered. There are several replacements in development for 4.x ATM, the one in 4.0.3 is kickoff developed by the KDE and usability team at SUSE. For 4.x more features has been added to it as well as improvements in usability. The other one in development is the task oriented menu raptor: http://raptor-menu.org/. Both kickoff and raptor are going to be in 4.1,Since the Clock, System tray, Task Manager and KDE twitter are all plasmoids you can replace the task manager with an OS X like dock or replace the menu with one of your preference.

more info here: http://plasma.kde.org/

This is not a blog on mac OS X. I don't need anonymous cowards spamming about OS X in here. that's why I've disabled Anonymous Commenting.

PS: there are KDE4 ports for both mac as well as windows. KDE4 is not just a linux or BSD thing any more.
